Efficacy of immunoglobulins in gram-negative infections in experimentally induced peritonitis in the rat

The effect of adjuvantly administered, newly developed immunoglobulin preparations in combination with an antibiotic is investigated by means of an animal experimental model. The animal model was peritonitis which was induced by a left-open colotomy in the rat. Administration of a combination therapy of immunoglobulins and an antibiotic succeeded in reducing lethality and shock index (according to Staub [15]) significantly by up to 50% as compared to the untreated control group. Using sub-therapeutic dosage of the antibiotic (50% of the human equivalent dose) the synergistic effect of the immunoglobulins could be confirmed clearly. Self-contained hydraulic cylinders have gained popularity in the recent years but have not been implemented for high power articulated hydraulic manipulators. This paper presents a novel concept for an electro-hydrostatic actuator applicable to large hydraulic manipulators. The actuator is designed and analyzed to comply with requirements such as load holding, overload handling, and differential flow compensation. The system is analyzed during four quadrant operation to investigate energy efficiency and regenerative capabilities. Ir zināms, ka ciešamā kārta tiek bieži vien pielietota lietišķajā stilā, bet tā nav tik bieži sastopama mutvārdu saziņā, bet vai ciešamās kārtas lietojums var atšķirties atkarībā no tēmas? Bakalaura darbā tika analizēts ciešamās kārtas lietojums atkarībā no materiāliem, kas var tikt atrodami korpusos. Darba hipotēze ir tāda, ka dažādos tematos ciešamās kārtas lietojums atšķiras. Lai pārbaudītu izvirzīto hipotēzi un sasniegtu izvirzīto pētījuma mērķi, tika izpētīti rakstītie avoti un agrāk veikti pētījumi par ciešamo kārtu un tās lietojumu. Predicting the bioaccumulation of polyaromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls in benthic animals in sediments

There were two main objectives in this study. The first was to compare the accuracy of different prediction methods for the chemical concentrations of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the organism, based on the measured chemical concentrations existing in sediment dry matter or pore water. The predicted tissue concentrations were compared to the measured ones after 28-day laboratory test using oligochaeta worms (Lumbriculus variegatus).
